The national anthem of the United States of America was sung by vocalist Jerry Naylis, who has been a member of the fire service and worked in the field of fire protection for more than 40 years.
Revered Dennis J. Sullivan, Bishop of Camden, New Jersey, leads the invocation.

New Jersey Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce welcomed conference attendees to the state and praised code officials for their work during the Group B Public Comment Hearings to protect citizens and communities. "When you're doing it, do it solid, stay behind it, enforce it, and you will prevail," she said. "And when you prevail, all of us benefit from it in safer homes and safer businesses.".
International Code Council CEO Dominic Sims gave an overview of the "Get Everyone Certified" campaign.
