International Code Council Voting Members elected Board Officers and Directors during the association's Annual Business Meeting at the 2014 Annual Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Guy Tomberlin, CBO, Branch Chief of Residential/Light Commercial Inspections for the Fairfax County, Va., Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, was elected President of the ICC Board. The Certified Building Official has been active in code enforcement since 1985 and works closely with all divisions in the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. He also has served on numerous ICC committees and is a Past President of the Virginia Building and Code Officials Association, the Virginia Plumbing and Mechanical Inspectors Association and Region VII Chapters.
Alex "Cash" Olszowy, Building Inspection Supervisor for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government in Lexington, Ky., was elected Vice President of the ICC Board. Olszowy has served with Lexington Fayette since 2003 and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Code Administrators Association of Kentucky Chapter for the past 12 years.
Georgia State Fire Marshal M. Dwayne Garriss was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the ICC Board. Garriss is currently serving on the ICC Investment, Audit, Budget and cdpACCESS committees and is a past chairman of the Fire Service Governance Committee.
Jay Elbettar, PE, CBO, was re-elected to a three-year term representing Section A on the ICC Board. Elbettar is Building Official for the city of Mission Viejo, Calif.
Richard C. Truitt, Sr. was re-elected to a three-year term representing Section E on the ICC Board. Truitt is Deputy Code Director for Harford County, Md.
William J. Bechtold, James E. Morganson and M. Donny Phipps, CBO, CFM, were elected to at-large positions on the ICC Board. Bechtold is Senior Building Official for Kenton County, Ky.; Morganson is the Code Enforcement Officer, Fire Marshal and Zoning Administrator for the city of Lake Placid, N.Y.; Phipps is Director of Inspections and Building Official for Richland County, S.C.
Alan Boswell, CBO, MCP, was elected to a two-year term on the ICC Board, filling the seat vacated by Garriss' election of Secretary/Treasurer. Boswell is Chief Building Official for the city of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Bryant, MCP, Code Enforcement Administrator, Anne Arundel County, Md.; Robert Drexler, Fire Marshal, Greece, N.Y.; Gilbert Gonzales, CBO, Chief Building Official, Murray City, Utah; Ron Hoover, MCP, Director, Marion, Iowa, Building Inspection Department and Fire Chief, Alburnett, Iowa; Tina Rakes, Codes Administrator, Baldwin City, Kan.; Lynn Underwood, MCP, Code Official, Norfolk, Va.; and Greg Wheeler, CBO, Chief Building Official, Thornton, Colo.
Voting Members also passed proposed resolutions 2014-1 through 2014-5. |
