ICC Voting Members elect

William R. Bryant (left), Code Enforcement Administrator, Department of Inspections and Permits for Anne Arundel County, Md., and Greg Wheeler (right), Chief Building Official for Thornton, Colo., were re-elected to at-large positions on the ICC Board. Jim. H. Brown (center), Deputy Building Official for the city of Gillette, Wyo., was elected to represent Section B on the ICC Board. He previously served as an at-large representative.
International Code Council Voting Members elected Board Officers and Directors during the association's Annual Business Meeting at the 2015 Annual Conference in Long Beach, Calif.

Alex "Cash" Olszowy III, Building Inspection Manager for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government in Lexington, Ky., was elected President of the ICC Board. Olszowy has served with Lexington Fayette since 2003 where he develops and recommends revisions of policies and procedures concerning the regulation of codes and ordinances in the jurisdiction. The former Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer of the ICC Board served on numerous committees, including as chair of the Investments, Audit, ADHOC on Board Governance and Appeals Committees. Olszowy is a Life Director of the Code Administrators Association of Kentucky and was a Director of ICC Region V from 2009-2013.

Georgia State Fire Marshal M. Dwayne Garriss was elected Vice President of the ICC Board. Garriss is a past chair of the ICC Fire Service Membership Council Governance Committee and has served on two exam development committees, the Codes Correlating Committee, and the Joint Fire Service Review Committee. His committee service with the ICC Board includes the Investment, Audit, Budget and cdpACCESS committees. Garriss was named Interim State Fire Marshal in April 2011 and was officially appointed to the position in September 2011.

Jay Elbettar, Building Official for the city Mission Viejo, Calif., was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the ICC Board. Elbettar manages and directs the operation of the Mission Viejo building division through Charles Abbott Associates including plan check, inspections, counter operations and permit issuance. From 1997-2010, he was the Director of Building and Safety for the city of Newport Beach, Calif., and has served on numerous ICC Board committees.

Stuart D. Tom was elected to represent Section A on the ICC Board. Tom serves as the Fire Marshal for the city of Glendale, Calif.

Jim. H. Brown, Deputy Building Official for the city of Gillette, Wyo., was elected to represent Section B on the ICC Board. Brown previously served as an at-large representative. Brenda A. Thompson, Manager of Building Inspections for the Clark County, Nev., Department of Building & Fire Prevention, was elected to fill Brown's vacant position.

Jerry R. Mallory, Building Official and Fire Marshal for Johnson County, Kan., was elected to represent Section D on the ICC Board.

William R. Bryant and Greg Wheeler were re-elected to at-large positions on the ICC Board. Bryant is the Code Enforcement Administrator for Anne Arundel County, Md. Wheeler is the Chief Building Official for the city of Thornton, Colo.

ICC Board Members not standing for election this year are: Immediate Past President Guy Tomberlin, Branch Chief of Residential/Light Commercial Inspections for the Fairfax County, Va., Department of Public Works and Environmental Services; William Jeff Bechtold, Senior Building Official, Kenton County, Ky.; Alan Boswell, Chief Building Official, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Robert Drexler, Fire Marshal, Greece, N.Y.; Gilbert Gonzales, Chief Building Official, Murray City, Utah; James E. Morganson, Code Enforcement Officer, Fire Marshal, Zoning Administrator, Village of Lake Placid/Town of North Elba, N.Y.; M. Donny Phipps, Director of Building Codes and Inspections, Richland County, S.C.; Richard C. Truitt, Sr., Deputy Code Director, Harford County, Md.; and Lynn Underwood, Building Code Expert, Department of Municipal Affairs , Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
