Ronald L. Lynn, Director and Building and Fire Official for the Clark County, Nev., Department of Building and Fire Prevention, was presented the prestigious Bobby J. Fowler Award during the Annual Banquet at ICC's 2015 Annual Conference in Long Beach, Calif.

The Fowler Award honors the memory of the first chairman of the ICC Board of Directors who led the charge to consolidate three regional model code organizations into one association. The award is presented to individuals whose contributions to the building safety industry advance the Code Council's goals to achieve a safer built environment.

"Many people are alive today because of Bob Fowler's dream, ICC's up-to-date codes, and the professional work of well-trained and certified code officials, plans examiners and inspectors," said Lynn.

Lynn is a Past President of the ICC Board of Directors, served as a member of the International Accreditation Service Board of Directors, and is currently a member of the ICC Evaluation Service Board of Managers. He was the first chair of the ICC Board of International Professional Standards. Additionally, Lynn serves as chairman of the Nevada Earthquake Safety Council and the Western States Seismic Policy Council's Architecture, Engineering and Construction Committee. He also is a member of the Nevada State Hazard Mitigation Planning Steering Committee and the Nevada Bureau of Mines & Geology Advisory Committee.

In 2009, Lynn was recognized by Congress for his contributions to the building safety industry, and, in 2010, he received a Senatorial Commendation for his commitment to building safety, energy conservation, and emergency response. In 2014, he was the recipient of the Western States Seismic Policy Council Lifetime Achievement Award.
