ICC Board of Directors Immediate Past President Guy Tomberlin presented his 2015 President's Award to Gregg Gress, a Senior Technical Staff member with ICC's Codes and Standards Development Department, during Tuesday night's Annual Banquet. The award is based on the selection by the President of a recipient worthy of special recognition for service to the International Code Council.

In addition to working with ICC's code development process, Gress develops training materials, provides written and verbal code interpretations, and authors commentary text. He is the secretariat for the ICC International Fuel Gas Code Committee, the International Residential Code Fuel Gas Provisions, the International Residential Code Electrical Provisions, and the ICC Electrical Code. He also is the staff liaison to the ICC International Mechanical Code Committee, the ICC International Residential Code, Plumbing/Mechanical Development Committee, and the ICC Electrical Certification Exam Committee. In addition, Gress is a member of the ANSI Z223 National Fuel Gas Code Committee, the NFPA 54 Committee, the Z21/83 Gas Standards Committee, and the UL Gas Council.

Gress holds several ICC Certifications and has experience in the construction industry as a journeyman plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, construction/maintenance supervisor, construction manager and designer, and as a municipal plumbing and mechanical inspector and plan reviewer. In 2010, he was presented an honorary membership to the Virginia Plumbing & Mechanical Inspectors Association for his outstanding support to the Chapter.
