Q: Is the allowable area in Section 508.3.3.2 the same as the area in Section 506.1?

A: The allowable area to be used in the denominator of the equation in Section 508.3.3.2 is indeed the total allowable area based on the occupancy in question. This not only includes the base tabular area of Table 503, but also any area increases for frontage and sprinklers noted in Section 506.1 as well.
