CODE DEVELOPMENT NEWS

cdpACCESS Rolls Out on November 15
cdpACCESS—the new, cloud-based tool built exclusively for ICC's code development process (cdp)—will be ready to use at the end of this week. Once referred to as remote voting, cdpACCESS is much more than that. Beginning Nov. 15, code development process participants will be able to create code change proposals, invite colleagues to collaborate, make proposals viewable to all and submit proposed code changes to the Code Council. Eligible voters will be able to vote online on code changes following the hearings. cdpACCESS allows you to participate in code development from a computer or tablet when you cannot attend in person. ACCESSIBILITY UPDATE

Fire Service Access Elevators Coordinate with Accessible Means of Egress
The 2009 and 2012 editions of the International Building Code include provisions for Fire Service Access Elevators (FSAE). The intent for requiring FSAE is twofold: (1) to provide for an elevator system useable for a longer period of time during a fire event; and (2) to provide for a system that would increase the comfort level of and the usability for firefighters.
