Call for Committees Coming Soon

Next month, the Code Council will release a Call for Committees seeking volunteers to serve on various committees for the development of the 2018 International Codes. Individuals are needed to serve on 19 code development committees, five code interpretation committees, plus the code correlation committee. The deadline to apply is June 2, 2014.

Although the the 2015 Group C International Green Construction Code has yet to have its hearing April 27-May4, 2014, in Memphis, work is already underway to plan for the 2018 set of I-Codes. The 19 code development committees are:

• Administrative Provisions Code Committee (IADMIN)
• Commercial Energy Code Committee-IECC (CECDC)
• International Building Code-Fire Safety Committee (IBC-FS)
• International Building Code-General Committee (IBC-G)
• International Building Code-Means of Egress Committee (IBC-E)
• International Building Code-Structural Committee (IBC-S)
• International Exiting Building Code Committee (IEBC)
• International Fire Code Committee [incl. IWUIC] (IFC)
• International Fuel Gas Code Committee (IFGC)
• International Green Construction Code-Energy and Water Committee (IGCC-EW)
• International Green Construction Code-General Committee (IGCC-GEN)
• International Mechanical Code Committee (IMC)
• ICC Performance Code Committee (ICCPC)
• International Plumbing Code and Private Sewage Disposal Committee (IPC)
• International Property Maintenance and Zoning Committee (IPM/ZC)
• International Residential Code-Building Committee (IRC-B)
• International Residential Code-Mechanical-Plumbing Committee (IRC-MP)
• International Swimming Pool and Spa Code Committee (ISPSC)
• Residential Energy Code Committee-IRC and IECC (RECDC)

The five interpretations committees are:

• Energy/EB/IGCC/PM/Z Code Interpretations Committee (ECIC)
• Fire/Performance/WUI Code Interpretations Committee (FCIC)
