Obituary for L. Curt McCarty [Source: http://www.legacy.com/theadvocate | June 10, 2008] He was taken home to rest on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at age 55, while doing what he enjoyed most, watching the LSU baseball game when the Lord called him home. Survived by his wife of 22 years, Marilyn N. McCarty; son, Logan McCarty; mother, Justine Curtis McCarty; four brothers, James B. McCarty, John Pat McCarty and wife Toula, Michael B. McCarty and Paul M. McCarty; sister, Erin M. Cox; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. Preceded in death by his father, John G. McCarty; and brother, Timothy G. McCarty. Curt was a loyal employee of the city of Baton Rouge for 27 years from which he retired in August 2005. He was employed by the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council. He was an outstanding ICC certified inspector. He was an avid LSU fan attending just about every baseball and football game. GO TIGERS!!! His son Logan has played baseball since he was 4 years old and his papa was always by his side cheering him on. Curt also enjoyed deer hunting at his camp in Mississippi with his son. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday June 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes Thursday in the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tiger Athletic Fund.
