ICC Signs MOU with PMG Industry in Mexico

Code Council Board President Adolf Zubia and CEO Rick Weiland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PMG representatives in Mexico to promote the mutual interests of plumbing and sanitation professionals. Zubia said the Council has strong interest in assisting organizations around the world in creating safer and healthier water systems.

"Our experts have made themselves available to organizations and governments seeking to create a better future for their loved ones and their fellow citizens," Zubia said at the signing ceremony. "While many of us can rely on safe and healthy water systems every day, many more on our planet are at risk due to unsafe conditions ranging from personal sanitation to cooking and cleaning. All of us who care about these issues, and have the means to do something to improve human health and safety, must work together."

Weiland said the Code Council will continue seeking collaborative efforts to create a safer and healthier world. "The Code Council is leading an effort to develop Global Sanitation Guidelines in collaboration with a wide array of international governments, NGO's, and stakeholders to assist in safe practices in water delivery and sanitation on a global basis," he explained. "We will work with you to improve and protect the health and safety of the general public that live, visit, play and work in Mexico and the surrounding area while advancing the science and professionalism of the construction trades." more>>
