2009 ICCF Code Officials Volunteer CORPS (COVC) Winners Recognized

The International Code Council Foundation announced and celebrated the 2009 Code Official Volunteer CORPS (COVC) volunteer challenge winners during the November 2nd Foundation Luncheon at the recent ICC Annual Conference. The Leading Chapter, Northwest Building Officials & Code Administrators of Illinois, won with 1,439 hours and the Leading Individual Volunteer, Thomas Kunz, also of NWBOCA won with 888 hours of volunteer service through various projects.

The Code Officials Volunteer CORPS program was created last year to recognize and support volunteer service by the members, staff, partners and families of the International Code Council. The volunteer service "challenge" to members was a member suggestion and includes the goal to identify and give 250,000 hours of service. Past projects have included Project H.E.R.O., Bear Drives, Habitat for Humanity, Wilderness on Wheels and much more. Please visit www.icc-foundation.org for more on COVC and to view the real-time database of hours and projects. Contact Sarah Murphy if you have any questions about how to get involved today.
