IABO Calls for Chapters to Stand Together and Support the 2009 International Codes The Iowa Association of Building Officials (IABO) unanimously passed a resolution March 12 to support the adoption of the 2009 International Codes. IABO members and IABO President Jeff Harden passed the resolution to send a message to the International Code Council and its members that "no matter who agrees or disagrees with any specific code-related topic, the main goal is to support our organization in any manner possible." The Iowa Association of Building Officials recognizes the new automatic sprinkler provisions in the 2009 International Residential Code are an important issue for communities, governmental agencies and builders around the country but "this issue should not divide our membership and we must strive to work together and work within the system provided," said President Harden "We feel that the Code Council Board of Directors is doing an excellent job in observing, listening, and acting upon the concerns of the membership."
