Life Is Good for 2009 Brent Snyder Award Winner ICC Upper Great Plains Region III presented its Educator of the Year Award—the 2009 Brent Snyder Award—to International Code Council Senior Technical Staff, Product Development Stephen Van Note, C.B.O., for his dedication to code training and contributions to training while relating his real-life experiences to that training. Van Note has shown himself to be dedicated to fostering uniform code enforcement through his many and varied training efforts. He is devoted to his friends and family, exhibits a healthy perspective on life and throughout his work and life has continued to show that sense of humor that is uniquely his. The award was created in honor of the late Brent Snyder, whose 40 years of experience in code enforcement and training exemplified dedication and service to the pubic and his fellow code officials. Snyder Award recipients should exhibit a dedication to code training for others; make contributions to fostering training; relate real-life experiences to code training experiences; exhibit a dedication to fostering uniform code enforcement; show devotion to friends and family; exhibit a healthy perspective on life; and exhibit a sense of humor. Roger Axel, Building Official for the City of New Hope, Minnesota, was the first-ever recipient of the ICC Upper Great Plains Region III Brent Snyder Education Award.
