Satellite Beach, Florida, Deputy Building Official Robert Perry was recognized by the city council for being one of the state’s most certified inspectors. Perry—a Master Code Professional since October 16, 2007—currently holds 34 professional certifications from the Code Council as well as General, Plumbing and Mechanical state contracting licenses. Perry’s most recent certifications include Certified Fire Code Official, Certified Housing Code Official, Fire Inspector I and II, and Fire Plans Examiner.

"It's been a long road," Perry said of his list of certifications that is about to get longer. "I am currently working on Disaster Response Inspector."

The Code Council's Master Code Professional (MCP) designation is the highest level of certification in the Code Council's program, and is the "gold standard" for demonstrating proficiency in the code profession. The Council has certified thousands of individuals, but only a select number have attained this high-level of achievement. To obtain this level of certification requires and demonstrates commitment to the profession, diverse knowledge of codes and a high-level of self-initiative.
