ICC PMG Participates in 2010 Irrigation Show
ICC staff from the Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) Group attended and presented at the 2010 Irrigation Show put on by the Irrigation Association (IA) and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). Presentations by ICC staff at a standards forum highlighted the development of a new ICC ANSI consensus standard for turfgrass and irrigation sprinklers. PMG staffers Jay Peters and Shawn Martin provided an overview of the ICC standards development process and answered questions on the new standards to be developed. They also invited the attendees to consider applying to participate in the Turfgrass and Landscape Irrigation Sprinkler Consensus Committee, which is accepting invitations through January 17, 2011. They also provided a brief introduction to the provisions impacting landscaping and irrigation in the new International Green Construction Code (IGCC).

ICC Regional Government Relations Manager David Nichols, who is based in Phoenix, staffed ICC's first booth at the show, introducing the industry to ICC and its products.

This year's show was held on December 5-7 at the Phoenix Convention Center, and drew over 5,000 attendees, according to the Irrigation Association. The 2011 Irrigation Show is scheduled to be held November 6-8, at the San Diego Convention Center.
