Signs of Success for the Cooperative Agreement between ICC-ES and Intertek
The building industry is already beginning to see dividends from the recently signed cooperative arrangement between Intertek and ICC Evaluation Service (ICC‐ES). The first two building‐product evaluation reports to be produced under the arrangement, both issued by ICC-ES to the Finnish company Lemminkainen Katto Oy, were ready for publication within a few weeks of the time Intertek, acting on behalf of Lemminkainen, submitted a complete package of technical data to ICC-ES. This rapid evaluation time, and the quick dissemination of published reports to U.S. regulatory agencies and the construction industry generally, bodes very well for building‐product manufacturers and for the future of the Intertek–ICC-ES working relationship.

Intertek, a worldwide leader in product testing, inspection, and certification, signed an agreement in July 2009 with ICC-ES, the United States' leading organization devoted to evaluating building products for code compliance. Under the agreement, manufacturers of building products work with ICC-ES through Intertek, which prepares evaluation‐report applications, puts together packages of technical information for study by ICC-ES engineers, and otherwise handles all the steps that otherwise would be the responsibility of the product manufacturer. more>>

ITW Red Head Designs Anchor to Hold against Seismic Stress
It is one of the least expensive components of a construction project. Tiny in comparison to nearly everything else that makes up a skyscraper, bridge or road, it nevertheless plays a giant role in a structure’s integrity. It is the wedge anchor.

Consider the Hoover Dam and the Golden Gate Bridge: two iconic structures of the 20th century. Both depend on wedge anchors designed by ITW Red Head, an Addison, Illinois-based division of Illinois Tool Works Inc (ITW). When it comes to construction involving concrete, anchors hold it all together and have done so since their first manufacture 100 years ago. Now, advanced technology has yielded a new anchor designed to hold during an earthquake, disastrous wind or other freak seismic occurrence.

Trubolt+ is a seismic wedge anchor manufactured by ITW Red Head. To verify code compliance for this innovative product, ITW Red Head turned to ICC-Evaluation Service. more>>

Visit the ICC-ES Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation Program Website
The Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation Program (SAVE) is a program created by ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) to provide independent conformance verification of sustainable products covering your "green" verification needs.

The program provides manufacturers the opportunity to have their products evaluated by ICC-ES. The evaluation, based on guidelines for sustainability, includes inspection of the manufacturer's production process and product testing at recognized laboratories, where applicable. The end result is a Verification of Attributes Report (VAR) which is available, free of charge, on the website.. more>>

Learn More about the ICC-ES PMG Listing Program
The ICC-ES Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) listing program assists those who enforce codes in determining whether a plumbing, mechanical or fuel gas product complies not only with applicable standards, but also with applicable codes. The program is unique in that code compliance is not normally covered in listing programs. The program will also include ongoing inspections to ensure that the manufacturing process for the approved product remains consistent. Learn more about the program's application process, rules of procedure, listing criteria and the ICC-ES PMG Listing Mark. more>>
