Code Council CEO Rick Weiland (right) was the keynote speaker at the Utah Chapter's Annual Business Meeting, Awards Banquet and Education Conference in St. George. During the festivities, Code Council Board member Jeff Whitney (left) was presented the chapter's Jess M. Miller Award, which is given to an individual for their lifetime contributions to the building and fire safety industry. The Education Conference included courses on the International Building Code, International Plumbing Code and International Mechanical Code. More than 145 chapter members participated in the event.

Code Council CEO Rick Weiland (left) was a guest speaker at the Upper Great Plains Region III Educational Institute in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Council Board member Ron Piester presented a professional development course, "The Challenges of the Code Official: Managing Change in a Changing World," which focused on green building, automation and the economic challenges of the recession. There were also education courses on the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code and the National Green Building Standard. Council Board member Ron Hoover is president of Region III.

Code Council CEO Rick Weiland and Board member Ravi Shah attended the Building Officials Association of Texas (BOAT) Mid-Year Meeting in Amarillo. Weiland addressed delegates during the Awards Banquet and swore in the new chapter officers. Shah was presented a Past President's Gavel and "Pink Croc Boots" for his service to the chapter.
