PMG Staff Begins Training for New Adoptee Puerto Rico

Following the signing of an MOU earlier this year with Puerto Rico to develop a complete suite of I-Codes, on behalf of Global Services and ICC Training and Education, Jay Peters gave a presentation to 300 architects, engineers and public officials in San Juan on March 18. The presentations were entitled “Code Development, Scopes and Highlights” and “Principle Changes, 2009 IPC and IMC,” both of which were so well received, ICC was requested to return to conduct additional training in the near future.

PMG Conducts Training Session and Booth at HVAC Conference

The National HVAC Excellence Show, March 14-16 in Las Vegas was attended by nearly 500 HVACR educators, trainers and administrators, the theme for which was “Green is the New Gold.” In addition to the ICC having a booth at the conference, Shawn Martin also conducted a session on “Mechanical Topics in the International Green Construction Code,” which provided an overview of the energy, water, and materials provisions in the IGCC.

PMI Spring Meeting, March 15-16

The ICC PMG Team, led by Jay Peters, was among the many sponsors of the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute Spring Meeting in San Diego. While there to represent ICC and the ICC ES-PMG Listing Program, the PMG team also coordinated a presentation by World Toilet Organization (WTO) president, Jack Sim. During his presentation to manufacturers, Mr. Sim stressed the importance of bringing together the “base of the pyramid” (i.e., the poorest portion of the world’s population) with suppliers and manufacturers. Mr. Sim also highlighted the extensive collaborative efforts the ICC puts forth towards helping the WTO and similar organizations to continue to improve sanitation conditions worldwide.
