Residential Fire Sprinkler MOU Advanced with NFSA, AFSA and CPSE
An agreement with the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) and Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) includes the formation of a new Commission for the Accreditation for Dwelling Fire Sprinkler Contractors. The key objective of this new commission is to ensure that the construction industry is fully trained and qualified to install residential fire sprinklers to meet the anticipated increase in demand as the IRC fire sprinkler provisions are adopted. Although this initiative originated with the ICC, NFSA and CPSE, many additional stakeholders will be brought together as the commission is formed. Details pertaining to training, certification and reporting are yet to be finalized and the Accreditation Commission will play a vital role in setting such parameters.
