ICC Attends North Carolina Building Inspectors Annual Conference

AZBO Holds Annual Business Meeting

The Arizona Building Officials (AZBO) held its Annual Business Meeting August 2-4 in Prescott, Arizona. Anthony Floyd, Senior Green Building Consultant for the city of Scottsdale, Ariz., served as the keynote speakers and discussed "Sustainability and the Expanding Role of Codes and Standards." David E. McCarthy and Roger Rotundo also discussed the development of the Phoenix, Arizona, Green Construction Code and its implementation through plan review, inspection and checklists. Other speakers included Tom Wandrie (The city of Phoenix's Self-Certification Program) and Phillip Beere (Efficient Use of Resources in the Renovation of Existing Residential Buildings). FASNY Holds 2011 Convention in Alexandra, New York

The Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY) held its 2011 Convention August 16-19 in Alexandria, New York. The event included training and education seminars, networking opportunities, and the presentation of several Chapter awards. ICC Celebrates Retirement of William Gregory after 40 Years of Service

Code Council Vice President of State and Local Government Relations Dorothy Harris attended the retirement party for William Gregory, formerly of the Town of Yorktown, who retired after 40 years. The event was held August 13 at Traveler's Rest in Ossining, New York. Harris presented Gregory with an ICC Certificate of Achievement for his service as a Past President of the New York State Building Officials Conference (NYSBOC), current President of the Eastern States Building Officials Federation, and for his service as an IAS Advisory Committee member. ICC Board President Gives Keynote Address at NASFM Conference

Code Council Board President Jimmy Brothers (right) presented the keynote speech at the 2011 NASFM Annual Conference July 14-16 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The membership of the National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) comprises the most senior fire officials in the United States.
