Member Participation Needed for Website Users Group
Nearly 40 percent of ICC publications sales are conducted through the ICC Store Online.

Use of the ICC website has increased exponentially over the past five years to 187,000 average monthly visits. Nearly 40 percent of ICC publications sales are conducted through the ICC Store Online while sales have increased 17 percent over the prior year. ICC Members can access a variety of member services through their My ICC account, including member pricing on products and services, technical service requests, job posts, the Building Safety Journal Online, and soon-to-launch areas such as the Members-only Codes & Standards Forum and Member Council blogs.

With all the positive elements of the ICC site, there is an ongoing need to improve and grow the application of web services for our Members. ICC is dedicating additional resources to this effort, but a critical ingredient will be knowing the specific needs of our Members. To achieve this we are establishing a Web Site Users Group. The group will represent a broad cross section of both internal and external stakeholders from a variety of fields and interests.

The purpose of the users group will be to meet periodically with ICC staff to:

1. Share user experiences of the current website and make recommendations for technical and content improvements.
2. Look around the corner to help ICC identify the use and application of emerging web technology.
3. Share knowledge about Code Officials' current and future IT needs.
4. Work with ICC staff on the development of a web roadmap that meets the needs of Members and customers.
5. Act as a beta group to test new pages and applications before they "go live."
6. Represent the voice of the "users" in online Member discussion groups.
7. Become advocates for the ICC online environment.

The informal group will meet as needed in person and by web conference. The ICC Board President shall designate two ICC Board members to the group. The CEO will identify the remainder of the group, which will change from time to time, as the objectives of the group changes. For more information, contact ICC Chief Operating Officer Dominic Sims.
