| Important Reminder—Building Safety Month |
| The 2011 Building Safety Month proclamation template is available for download at www.buildingsafetymonth.org. This template can be used to help secure city, county, municipal or state level recognition in support of Building Safety Month. Also available for download is the Building Safety Month 2011 public relations toolkit. This toolkit was designed to assist members and code officials in promoting Building Safety Month in their communities. The free downloadable tool kit includes: • Proclamation Template • Letter to the Editor Template • News Release Template • Strategies for a successful Building Safety Month • Consumer Handouts for each week of Building Safety Month • CODiE & CODEtte the Code Officials children's activity book • General Building Safety Brochures A complete PR toolkit will be available for purchase at the ICC Store in early March. Building Safety Month will kick-off May 1 highlighting green building, energy and conservation conscious construction, disaster safety and mitigation, fire safety and awareness, and backyard safety. The campaign will include weekly distribution of information around these four core themes with consumer tips and links on www.buildingsafetymonth.org to resources, which will increase awareness about the critical importance of building and designing safe and sustainable structures globally.
