Dallas Results Form Basis for Final Action Hearings; Maryland Adopts the IgCC

More than 1,300 proposed changes to the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) and the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) were heard during Code Development Hearings in Dallas. Results of the hearings will form the basis for changes to be heard during Final Action Hearings November 2-6 in Phoenix. View the results for IgCC-General, IgCC-Energy/Water and the ISPSC.

ICC Board Adopts CDRAC Recommendations with Broad Industry Support, to Shape the Future of Code Development Worldwide

The Code Development Review Ad-Hoc Committee (CDRAC) presented an overview of activities to the International Code Council Board of Directors during its meeting in Dallas. The Board adopted all CDRAC recommendations along with two additional recommendations from the Code Appeals Board not addressed in the CDRAC report. Click to continue.

Board Approves Changes to IECC, IRC Code Development Processes

The ICC Board approved changes to the code development processes for the International Energy Conservation Code and the International Residential Code, effective with the 2012/2013 Code Development Cycle. The action was taken during the Board's meeting in Dallas. Click to continue.


Appointments Made to New Codes and Standards, Membership Councils

The ICC Board appointed a new Codes and Standards Council representing stakeholders across several disciplines, as well as new discipline-specific Membership Councils to allow more opportunities for Member feedback to drive the future of ICC. Click to continue.

  Former CBSC Director Walls Named Executive
Director of Sustainability Programs
Former California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) Executive Director Dave Walls has been named Executive Director of Sustainability Programs at the Code Council. Walls will be responsible for supporting efforts to secure adoptions of the International Green Construction Code, assisting with developing and enhancing green-related products and services, and leading outreach to industry organizations.   ICC Guideline for Building Commissioning to
Provide Needed Support for Code Officials
The Code Council will develop a Guideline for Building Commissioning to meet the need to increase the efficiency of commercial buildings. Commissioning, the verification of how a building performs once the certificate of occupancy is issued, is required by the International Green Construction Code, CalGreen and LEED certification.

  Brown Re-Appointed to Texas Building Code Council
Roland Brown of Midlothian, Texas, was re-appointed to the Texas Industrialized Building Code Council for a term that expires Feb. 1, 2013. The Council oversees the inspection of industrialized housing and buildings to ensure state standards are enforced. Click to continue.
