Energy MOU Ratified to Include ICC's Mexico Chapter

Code Council Board of Directors President Bill Dupler and former CEO Rick Weiland met with officials from the Mexican National Commission for the Conservation of Energy (AEAEE) to ratify a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was signed in 2009 to include ICC's Mexico Chapter, CASEDI. The MOU calls for the Code Council, AEAEE and CASEDI to work in conjunction in the development of Mexico's energy code that is based on ICC's International Energy Conservation Code. The MOU reads:

 

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN ICC — AEAEE — CASEDI

Having recognized Calidad y Sustentabilidad en la Edificación, A.C. (CASEDI) as a Chapter of The International Code Council (ICC) in Mexico and based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the ICC and the AEAEE signed on November 4 2009, and in agreement with the objectives of said MOU, the International Code Council (ICC), Calidad y Sustentabilidad en la Edificación, A.C. (CASEDI) and the Asociación de Empresas Para El Ahorro de la Energía en la Edificación AC, (AEAEE) agree to support this Memorandum of Understanding to work towards the development of an Energy Conservation Code for Mexico, using as a basis the International Energy Conservation Code of the ICC, the NOMs and NMXs and other existing standards regarding this subject.

While in Mexico City, ICC Board of Directors President Bill Dupler and former ICC CEO Rick Weiland also formally presented CASEDI its ICC Chapter Plaque and President's Pin. CASEDI was recently approved by the ICC Board of Directors as the Code Council's 350th Chapter.
