Code Council Chapters will play a major role in conference activities again this year. The Portland Host Chapters committee, New Jersey chapters and more have been working diligently to insure the success of Chapter sponsored events at the 2012 ICC Annual Conference in Portland Oregon. Every event highlights the talent, creativity and diversity of ICC Chapters and their dedication to ICC. Chapter members have invested a significant amount of time and resources in these events already, not to mention the personal sacrifices made when taking time away from work and family. They deserve our appreciation and recognition.

Featured chapter sponsored events kick off on Sunday night, October 21st at the Meet and Greet with the ICC Candidates. Key sponsors from the North Dakota Building Officials Association, the New York State Code Coalition and Upper Great Plains Region III have a casual evening planned with food and music.

Monday night, the Oregon Building Officials Association and the Northwest Chapters of ICC promise a memorable evening at the Welcome to Portland Reception at the Northwest-themed World Forestry Center located in the beautiful Washington Park area of Portland. More than forty Chapters put their support behind the Host Chapters Welcoming event by Paying-it-Forward to Portland. Following the Annual Banquet on Wednesday the New Jersey Chapters will give us a glimpse of what to expect next year when they host the 2013 ICC Annual Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21st
The 9th Annual Bob Fowler Motorcycle Ride. See the best of Portland and surrounding areas touring 200 miles of open road each day. Hit the links on one of Portland’s pristine golf courses.

Monday, October 22
Be sure to pre-register to attend the Chapter President’s Breakfast at 7am. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with your peers over a hearty breakfast. New Chapters will be recognized and Chapter of the Year and Chapter Merit winners will be announced. Chapter Presidents and one Chapter officer may attend. Contact Laura Scott in Chapter Relations by October 15th to register. Chapter Presidents will find tickets in their packet for themselves and their pre-registered guest.

At 4:30PM Regions Meetings will be held in the convention center in private meeting rooms in B and C concourses. Refer to the program or look for signage for your Regions room assignments.

Tuesday, October 23
Attend one of the many Cracker Barrel sessions including a session for Chapter Leaders on Making the Most of your Chapter Benefits.

Wednesday, October 24
Join us in honoring our 2012 Chapter Award winners and ICC Awards at the Annual Awards Luncheon from 11:30AM to 1PM.
