Robertson Presented 2012 President's Award

At the discretion of the ICC Board of Directors President, an individual worthy of special recognition for service to the International Code Council may be honored with the President's Award. This year, outgoing Board President William Dupler honored Roger Robertson (pictured right), an ICC Member who exemplifies dedication to the code profession, and one who freely shares his knowledge and professional experience with others.

Robertson is an ICC Member who truly believes in the importance of ICC's mission and the importance of educating others; he continually motivates those around him to do the same. As a Member, he served on numerous residential code development committees supporting the code development process by reviewing thousands of code change proposals.

"Though he never sought elected office in ICC or any of the legacy associations, he has mentored three Chapter presidents and served the unique and trusted role of my confidant and advisor," said Dupler. "It is with sincere gratitude and in recognition of all he has done to support our association, as well as countless individual ICC Members, that I am privileged, pleased and thrilled to present the 2012 ICC President’s award to my colleague and one of my mentors Roger Robertson, Chief of Inspections at Chesterfield County, Virginia."

"I am unbelievably stunned, honored, humbled and surprised," Robertson remarked upon receiving the 2012 President's Award. "I really do love the code development process and if I have any advice for those who may come along, it's just 'don't give up on the process.' It really works. Carry it through and it'll work for you."
