OBOA and SBOA Hold Joint Annual Conference
The Ohio Building Officials Association (OBOA) held its annual Joint Conference in conjunction with the Southwest Building Officials Association (SBOA) on March 18-20 in West Chester, Ohio. International Code Council Board Secretary/Treasurer Stephen Jones, Code Council Vice President of Chapter Relations Laura Scott, and Senior Regional Director of Government Relations Corey M. Roblee were in attendance. Jones provided the keynote address to the Membership during its Annual Banquet and installed the newly elected officers, including first-ever WOMAN President of OBOA, Renee Snodgrass, from the City of West Carrollton, Ohio.

Wyoming Conference of Building Officials Holds 2012 Spring Meeting & Training Seminar
The Wyoming Conference of Building Officials (WCBO) held its 2012 Spring Meeting and Training Seminar on April 18-20 in Laramie, Wyoming. International Code Council Board Vice President Ron Piester and Code Council Government Relations Regional Manager David Nichols participated with the Chapter during its business and board meetings.

Code Council Instructor John Gibson provided excellent seminar instruction on Thursday and Friday morning on the topic "2009 IBC Performing Commercial Building Inspections" including 2012 updates.

During the Chapter Banquet, the WCBO Board presented Ron Piester with a very special Wyoming Belt Buckle. Ron was called upon to help present a special Chapter Award to the Past President of the Chapter. Bruce Wilson, Past President and Building Official for Cheyenne, was presented an Honorary Membership to the WCBO Chapter for his many years of outstanding service to the Chapter.

The Chapter conducted a special tour of the historic Wyoming Territorial Prison located in Laramie following lunch on Friday. Butch Cassidy was the most famous prisoner to spend time in this remarkable correctional facility built in 1872. The prison was closed in 1903 and was restored as a Sate Historic Site in the 1990s.

SNMBOA and NMFMA Hold 8th Annual Spring Training Conference
The 8th Annual Southern New Mexico Building Officials Association (SNMBOA) and New Mexico Fire Marshals Association (NMFMA) Chapters' Spring Training Conference was held April 15-17 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Both Chapters held elections at the business meeting on April 16. International Code Council Board Director Ravi Shah and Code Council Government Relations Regional Manager David Nichols were in attendance.

International Code Council Board Director Ravi Shah conducted the ICC Installation Ceremony after addressing the group at the Installation Luncheon held on April 11. Ravi inspired the participants with his address titled, "Harnessing the Power of Talent" which focused on the need for Chapters, code officials and their respective jurisdictions to nurture and utilize their human capital or talent pool to "effectively orchestrate productivity and efficiency" in today's rapidly changing global environment in order to remain competitive.

The Village of Ruidoso has been hosting this event from the beginning at the jurisdiction's Conference Center. Village Officials were present at the Installation Luncheon to witness Shawn Fort, Ruidoso's Building Official, installed as the Southern new Mexico Building Officials Association Chapter President. Village Inspector David Nolta was also installed as the Chapter's Secretary/Treasurer.

Chapter Members received instruction on three ICC Seminars over two days from ICC Instructors Patrick Vandergriff and Ben Green.
