ICC Illustrated IBC Handbook Helps Professionals
Better Understand Code Application, Compliance


The 2012 International Building Code (IBC) Handbook, a new publication from the International Code Council (ICC) and McGraw-Hill Professional, combines detailed discussion with more than 600 color illustrations to support the application of IBC provisions. Previously published in two volumes, the new edition covers both structural and fire- and life-safety provisions in a single reference to ease understanding and proper application of code requirements and achieve compliance.

Thornburg is a certified building official and registered architect. John R. Henry, a registered civil engineer and certified plans examiner, has 25 years of experience in structural-related aspects of building code safety. ICC Offers New Masonry Inspector's Guide from MIA

The International Code Council now carries the 8th edition of the Reinforced Concrete Masonry Construction Inspector's Handbook from the Masonry Institute of America. Written especially for masonry inspection, the handbook covers all aspects of reinforced concrete masonry construction, including terminology, technologies, materials, quality control, inspection and standards.

Content is based on the requirements of the 2012 International Building Code and the 2008 Masonry Standard Joint Committee Code [Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures (TMS 402-11/ACI 530-11/ASCE 5-11) and Specification for Masonry Structures (TMS 602-11/ACI 530.1-11/ASCE 6-11)].

The handbook is a helpful reference for preparing to take the ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspection Certification Examination.
