Meet the Challenge by Having 100% of Your Technical Staff Certified by ICC

Jurisdictions are encouraged to raise the professionalism and commitment of their departments by having 100 percent of their technical staff earn ICC Certifications through the "Get Everyone Certified Challenge" presented by the Code Council and Target.

The Get Everyone Certified challenge recognizes departments whose entire technical staff is ICC certified by:

• Offering departments with newly certified staff a Target challenge coin and a chance to win $1,100 toward education
• Listing the departments with full staff participation on the 100% Certified Web page.
• Mailing each department a personalized certificate to recognize the staff's achievement.
• Providing an e-badge to post on the department's website.
• Providing a sample news release for promoting the staff's achievement.

Target will be awarding three code enforcement departments with a $1,100 credit for ICC educational offerings, such as training and training materials. All departments with 100-percent newly certified staff will be entered into a drawing by population size. Winning departments will be recognized by Target at the Code Council's 2013 Annual Conference Sept. 29–Oct. 2 in Atlantic City. To be eligible for the drawing, code enforcement departments must submit an entry form by August 16. Click here for the official rules and regulations, frequently asked questions and a listing of current departments with 100-percent certified staff.

ICC Certifications ensure that staff have demonstrated competency in the requirements of the 2012 or 2009 International Codes. ICC Certifications also demonstrate expert knowledge by staff and can assist in your department's future accreditation efforts. The Code Council's certification program is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious credentialing program for construction code administration and enforcement professionals in the United States.

Target, the official sponsor of the Get Everyone Certified Challenge, is committed to building strong, safe communities and promoting education. In 2010, Target announced plans to give $1 billion for education by the end of the 2015 fiscal year. Partnering with the Code Council to promote code knowledge is an obvious blending of these two initiatives.

The laminated Flood CodeMaster, with complete step-by-step information on designing a structure for flood loads, was released in August 2011.
