BCAP Seeks Circuit Riders in Ohio

The Building Codes Assistance Project (BCAP) is seeking one or two Circuit Rider trainers to provide technical training and assistance to building code enforcement professionals across Ohio. Circuit Riders will: solicit and secure participation of local code enforcement departments; provide technical assistance and training on Ohio's energy code to local building code enforcement staff; and document and report on activities. The Circuit Riders will be responsible for providing assistance to 20–25 local building departments in the form of plan reviews, onsite building inspections or other customized visits. Total funding available is up to $20,000. This is an eight-month contractual position to begin in February 2014. The Circuit Riders will be independently contracted; this is not an employee position.

Applicants should have experience enforcing the energy code, including but not limited to, conducting plan reviews for residential and/or commercial buildings; conducting inspections for residential and/or commercial buildings; possessing good communications skills; possessing knowledge of Ohio's energy code; and holding current ICC energy certification(s).
