California Is State with Most "Get Everyone Certified" Challenge Jurisdictions

California leads all states with 30 jurisdictions participating in the Get Everyone Certified Challenge. Washington State is close behind with 23 jurisdictions. More than 230 jurisdictions in 36 states are already participating. Are your neighboring jurisdictions participating? Could you be the first participant in your state?

Fire departments and districts, we need you too! We already have nine fire enforcement jurisdictions participating in the challenge. Help us grow! ICC recently launched five new certifications on commercial fire sprinklers and commercial fire alarms, giving you even more fire-related certification choices.

The Challenge encourages code enforcement departments to get all technical staff members certified by ICC. Departments with staff members who are 100 percent ICC Certified will be listed on the 100 percent Certified webpage, and receive a personalized department certificate, sample news release and an e-badge to promote the staff's achievement.

Time is running out to participate in the 2014 challenge! If your department has a staff member or multiple staff members who earn a new ICC Certification after August 17, 2013, and before August 15, 2014, the department is eligible for the chance to win $1,100 toward education, courtesy of Target. Complete this form to submit your jurisdiction to the Get Everyone Certified Challenge!

ICC Evaluation Service is prepared to update manufacturers' existing ICC-ES evaluation reports so that they meet the requirements of the newly published 2015 International Codes (I-Codes). Many changes in the 2015 I-Codes provide clarity so they can be applied consistently. The 2015 I-Codes address design and installation of innovative materials and encourage the use of new and smarter technological advances.

"As a subsidiary of the International Code Council, ICC-ES has the technical knowledge and resources to help manufacturers comply with the 2015 I-Codes in a timely manner," said ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian, P.E. IDC Chooses ICC Evaluation Service PMG Certification

The ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) Listing Program has issued six new reports: PMG-1255, PMG-1256, PMG-1257, PMG-1258, PMG-1259 and PMG-1260 to IDC Plumbing and Heating Technology (Beijing) Ltd. The parent company, IDC Fluid Control, manufactures valves and related products that provide personal comfort and public safety. IDC products provide quality, conservation and control of water used in commercial, residential, industrial and municipal applications. With the ICC-ES certification, IDC can now distribute its products in both the U.S. and Canada.

"We are extremely pleased with IDC's decision to certify their products with ICC-ES. They are a major manufacturer in China and were looking to save money while still maintaining the quality of their certification reports," said Dawn LaFleur Qualley, Program Director of ICC-ES PMG. "Not only did they maintain the quality, they also received the customer attention that they deserved. We understand the urgency to get products to market; therefore, we provided them with this critical service and will continue to do so."
