2014 Group C Committee Action Hearing Schedule Announced

The hearings to develop the 2015 International Green Construction Code will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 in the Memphis, Tenn., Cook Convention Center. Prior to the hearings the Building Official; Fire Service; Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas Officials; and Sustainability Membership Councils will be holding meetings on the mornings of April 26 and 27. This year's Committee Action Hearings offer code officials, inspectors and sustainablility building professionals; structural engineers and architects; plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas professionals; contractors and builders; fire safety professionals; ICC Members and non Members; and manufacturers of sustainable products the opportunity to voice their opinions and offer expertise to help ensure the 2015 edition of the International Green Construction Code effectively promotes safety, resiliency, sustainability and energy efficiency in the built environment of our communities. The outcome of the hearing will be the basis for the 2015 Group C codes to be finalized at the Public Comment Hearing later this year in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The new cdpACCESS system will be live at the April 2014 Committee Action Hearings in Memphis. cdpACCESS, which includes remote voting, allows greater participation in code development because participants can be involved from just about anywhere there is Internet access. With cdpACCESS, it is possible to invite colleagues to work on code changes and public comment submittals, review posted code changes and public comment agendas, collaborate on hearing preparation and vote. ICC Governmental Member Voting Representatives Deadline Is Approaching

The Group C Committee Action Hearings will be held April 27–May 4 in Memphis, Tenn. ICC Governmental Member Primary Representatives must validate their Governmental Member Voting Representatives ("GMVR") no later than March 28 for the GMVR to be eligible to participate in the Online Assembly Floor Motion vote that will follow the Committee Action Hearings.

Jurisdictions who are not currently Governmental Members wishing to be eligible to participate in 2014 Online Assembly Floor Motion vote, Public Comment Hearings and Online Governmental Consensus Votes must apply for ICC Governmental Membership by March 28, and shall be required to designate their GMVR as noted above for the Online Assembly Floor Motion vote.

Other individuals or entities wishing to be eligible to participate in the 2014 Online Assembly Floor Motion vote must apply for ICC Membership by March 28.

Committee Meetings Scheduled Leading Up to Group C Hearings

Three ICC Technical Committees will hold meetings leading up to the Group C Committee Action Hearings in Memphis, Tenn. The purpose of the meetings is for committee members to review proposed changes to the International Green Construction Code and to identify possible changes for the 2015 Group A code cycle.

• The ICC Code Technology Committee (CTC) will meet March 26–27 in Schiller Park, Ill. Read the meeting notice.
• ICC's Code Action Committees will hold a joint meeting April 7–8 in Rosemont, Ill. Read the meeting notice.
• The ICC Ad Hoc Committee on Healthcare will hold its 12th meeting April 15–16 in Schiller Park, Ill. Read the meeting notice.

February 2014 Building Valuation Data Available for Download

The February 2014 Building Valuation Data (BVD) is now available for download from the International Code Council website. The Code Council strongly recommends that all jurisdictions and other interested parties actively evaluate and assess the impact of the BVD table before utilizing it in their current code enforcement related activities.

The Building Valuation Data is updated every six months, with the next data available in August 2014.
