The Building Officials Conference of Northeast Ohio (BOCONEO) participated in Building Safety Month with an information booth and displays at the Steelyard Commons Home Depot in Cleveland, Ohio. Using the public relations packet developed by the ICC Foundation, pamphlets and flyers, and promotional give-a-ways, they brought the message of Building Safety to the residents of northeast Ohio. BOCONEO members constructed visual aids with mock-up wall sections showing code compliant electrical and plumbing installations along side other mock-ups showing improper installations. The group was well received by the Home Depot staff and was invited back in the fall to participate in another event along with fire service professionals.
