Board VP Bill Dupler and Government Relations SVP Sara Yerkes met with the Vice President during the reception at the Naval Observatory, his residence. Also in attendance were representatives of the national fire service and safety organizations such as NFPA, IAFF, IAFC, NVFC, the New York Port Authority, NYFD, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, and others. Biden visited with his guests before heading to Capitol Hill for President Obama’s speech that night.  In his comments at the reception, Biden recognized the work of the fire and emergency responders and spoke about the anniversary of 9/11.
