Welcome New Chapters

The following organizations have been granted chapter status by the International Code Council’s Board of Directors, bringing the total number of Code Council chapters to 329.

  • Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) is the sixth group approved for international chapter status and has more than 2,000 members. With 40 years experience in the industry, AIBS is recognized nationally and internationally as the professional body representing building surveyors in Australia. Building surveyors are responsible for making sure buildings are safe, energy efficient, accessible and meet all legal requirements, just like code enforcement officials in the U.S. AIBS is dedicated to promoting and developing the professional standing of its members, while contributing to health, safety and amenity of the built environment. Current officers are President Chris Summers, Immediate Past President Greg du Chateau, Vice President Steve Bramich, and Institute Directors Vic Etherington, Glenn Driscoll, Geoff Mitchell and Bernie Steer along with CEO Kevin Skauge.
  • Fire Safety Directors of Greater New York (FSDANY) has more than 500 members who are high-rise fire safety directors within the metropolitan area of New York City and its surrounding counties. The group formed in 1978 after two disastrous high-rise fires caused the city to create the most restrictive law of its kind for high-rise buildings. FSDANY is dedicated to providing life safety measures for building evacuations for fire and other all-hazard emergencies. Current officers are President Matthew J. Callaghan, 1st Vice-President Nicholas Gaudiosi, 2nd Vice-President Michael Gimpel, 3rd Vice-President Kevin Mcguire, Treasurer William Costello, Financial Secretary Stan Pitcavage, Recording Secretary Kevin Reilly, Public Relations Glenn Corbett, Director Of Personnel James Hayes and Paul Mallery, Sargeant-At-Arms Edward Cardinale and James P. Ellson, Corresponding Secretary Nika Whitehead and Board Of Directors C. W. Sansevero (Chairman), Jack J. Murphy (Vice Chairman), Lawrence M.Byrnes, Domenick Rossetti, Joseph Mccormick, Victoria Pitcavage and Joseph C. Razza.
  • Juan de Fuca Chapter of the International Code Council covers the North Olympic Peninsula of Washington state including Clallam and Jefferson counties. The group has a little over 20 members whose disciplines cover building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, building inspectors, design professionals, engineers, builders, utility advisors and business owners. Current officers are President Fred Slota (Jefferson County), Vice President Ann Hall (City of Sequim), Secretary Sheila Miller (Clallam County) and Treasurer Toni Goralski (Clallam County).
  • Missouri Association of Code Enforcement is a statewide chapter with over 100 members covering the disciplines of code enforcement and building inspection. Current officers are President Pearline McFall (City of Kansas City), 1st Vice President Tamara Gray (City of Belton), 2nd Vice President Michael Pinkley (City of Springfield), 3rd Vice President Jeff Vogel (City of Belton), Secretary Lara Mormino (City of Hazelwood), Treasurer LeRon Ford (City of Kansas City), Sergeant-at-Arms Gary Schlottach (City of Florissant) and Immediate Past President Johnny Benisch (City of St. Charles).
  • San Diego County Fire Prevention Officers Association was approved for local chapter status. Their purpose in forming a chapter is to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas concerning fire and life safety for fire service personnel in San Diego County. Current officers are President Patti Daul (Poway Fire Department), Vice President James Beebe (North County Fire Department), Secretary Marlene Donner (Oceanside Fire Department) and Treasurer Astrid Starcher (Vista Fire Department).
  • Women in Code Enforcement and Development (WICED) covers the entire USA and serves predominantly female code development individuals representing both industry and governmental representatives. Granted professional chapter status, their goal is to provide mentoring, advocacy and education to women working in the areas of code development and enforcement. Current officers are President Shirley Muns (US Greenfiber, Charlotte, NC), Vice President Sarah Rice (Schirmer Engineering, Cincinnati, OH) and Secretary/Treasurer Eirene Oliphant (City of Leawood, KS).
