Permit Techs Go to Minneapolis

The Code Council’s Ad Hoc Permit Technician Committee hosted a well-visited booth at the Code Council’s Expo in Minneapolis during the Annual Conference. The booth was provided by the Code Council to help the committee raise awareness of their profession.

Sponsored by the Code Council permit technician chapters, each was represented at the booth through various flyers and complimentary items that were distributed to the attendees. Two cash prize drawings were awarded to Pete Wilt, President of the Southern New Mexico Building Officials Association from the City of Clovis and William Dumbaugh, Past President of the Building Officials Association of Florida from Broward County. The money for the drawings was provided by the Colorado Association of Permit Technicians.

The “got Permit Techs?” slogan was borrowed with permission from the Washington State Association of Permit Technicians who will be using this theme during their 2008 Fall Conference.

Other chapters represented at the booth included the Kansas City Metro Association of Permit Technicians, Minnesota Building Permit Technicians Association (MBPTA), New Jersey Association of Technical Assistants, North Central Texas Permit Technicians Chapter (NCTPTC), Oregon Permit Technicians Association (OPTA) and the permit technician committee of Central Ohio Code Officials Association.
