Results of the February 2012 ICC-ES Environmental Committee Meeting

1. EC103 — Environmental Criteria for Determination of Radiative Properties of Roof Covering Materials and Solar Reflectance of Hardscape Materials
Revisions to the criteria were approved, including a new title, expanded terms and definitions that align with the 2012 IgCC, and to permit the use of the Cool Roof Rating Council CRRC-1 Standard.

2. EC113 — Environmental Criteria for Roof Coverings with Photocatalytic Properties
This new criteria was held for further study, pending investigation of the long-term photocatalytic performance over time.

3. EC114 — Environmental Criteria for Determination of Source of Recovery, Extraction, Harvest and Manufacture for Materials or Products
This new criteria was approved. EC114 will replace criteria EC104. EC114 focuses on sourcing verification rather than a declaration of either indigenous or regional in EC104.
Public comments were heard on the following criteria under development that support Materials Selection in Chapter 5 of the International Green Construction Code (IgCC). Committee action was not required because the 2012 IgCC has not been formally published.
