EC115 — Proposed Environmental Criteria for Determination of Equivalent Frame Wall Assemblies to the Prescriptive Building Thermal Envelope Requirements of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and the International Residential Code (IRC) — A new criteria was proposed for determining frame wall assemblies that are equivalent to the prescriptive provisions of the 2012 IRC and 2012 IECC thermal transmittance requirements in various climate zones. This proposed new criteria was presented for public comment in June 2012 under the alternate criteria process. EC115 passed as modified by the staff letter dated September 26, 2012, on a vote of 3-2 with an immediate effective date.

EC116 — Proposed Environmental Criteria for Evaluation of Pervious and Permeable Paving Materials and Assemblies — A new criteria was proposed for determination of compliance to the 2012 International Green Construction Code, Section 403.1 and 404.2 for pervious and permeable paving materials. This was previously considered by the Environmental Committee in February 2012 and subsequently presented for public comment in June 2012 under the alternate criteria process. EC116 passed as modified with editorial revisions to Sections 1.3.1, 4.3 and 4.4.2 on a vote of 5-0 with an immediate effective date.

EC117 — Proposed Environmental Criteria for Determination of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Emissions of Insulation Products — A new criteria was proposed to determine if VOC emissions of insulation products are compliant to the emissions requirements of various green codes and rating systems. This criteria was originally presented for public comment in June 2012 under the alternate criteria process as part of a revision to EC107. Based on comments received the item is now being presented as a new criteria. EC117 passed as modified with revisions to Sections 1.4 and 2.3 on a vote of 4-0-1 with an immediate effective date.
