ICC-ES Transitioning to New Inspection Policy and Procedures

In order to comply with ISO/IEC 17065, ICC-ES is initiating the transition to a new inspection policy and procedures. ICC-ES will enter into agreements with approved third-party agencies that wish to perform inspections for manufactures related to ICC-ES evaluation reports. These agencies will agree to follow ICC-ES procedures for inspections, and provide data required by ICC-ES to assure safety and performance. Inspection activities will continue under the current procedures until January 1, 2014, at which point—so that ICC-ES can assure its accreditors that it is in compliance with ISO/IEC 17065—the new program will become mandatory for all report holders. ES is working closely with clients to help streamline the transition, push down cost and minimize disruption of existing inspection relationship.

If you have questions about this change, please contact Jay Lee (800-423-6587, ext. 3377) or Sharon Rios (800-423-6587, ext. 3706) of our Continuous Compliance Department.
