Meng Earns Professional Engineering License and Promotion

Qiaoli Meng, a Product Review Engineer for the ICC-ES Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) program, in the ICC-ES Whittier Calif., office, prepared for several months to take the Professional Engineer's (PE) exam. Meng completed a two-month-long PE preparation class, which consisted of training seven hours per day on Saturdays and Sundays plus additional hours of study every other day of the week. All of his work and dedication culminated when he took the PE exam and passed. He has since received a PE license and now holds the title of Staff Engineer.

Meng joined ICC-ES in July 2011, and is responsible for reviewing PMG products to applicable standards and codes for PMG listings. He is also active in pursuing manufacturers from the Chinese market. Prior to joining ICC-ES, he worked as a mechanical engineer in an electronic design and manufacturing company in San Diego. Qiaoli holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buffalo.
