ICC-ES PMG — black iron gas pipe certification update.

As a result of requests by some of the jurisdictions in the U.S., ICC-ES is announcing the existence of another product certification service to the manufacturers around the globe, namely certification of black iron gas pipe to the requirements of ASTM A53. Black iron pipes for gas usage, similar to other plumbing products, must be certified before approval for installation by authorities having jurisdiction. Section 303.4 of the International Plumbing Code and 301.1.1 of the Uniform Plumbing Code both require such products to be certified by a conformity assessment body, such as ICC-ES.
