FSMC Gathers Donations for West, Texas, Fund

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation received a check from ICC Board President Ron Piester that contained donations gathered in Dallas, Texas, at the ICC Group B Committee Action Hearings. The donations, made at a booth set up by the ICC Fire Service Membership Council, were dedicated to assist the survivors and coworkers of the fire and EMS personnel who died in the line of duty in response to the massive explosion and fires April 17.

"We were all saddened by the tragic events in West Texas on April 17th that took the lives of so many dedicated first responders," Piester said in a letter to NFFF Executive Director Ronald Siarnicki. "As the International Code Council convened its code development Committee Action Hearings in Dallas that following weekend, the ICC's Fire Service Membership Council Governing Committee volunteered to set up a booth to collect donations for the West, Texas, Fire/EMS Fallen Hero Fund. Many code officials from across the country made donations at the conference and others did so directly through the NFFF website."
