Alaska-Based Laboratory First in State to Earn Accreditation

Alaska Assay Laboratories in Fairbanks, Alaska—a member of the Alfred H Knight Group with headquarters in the United Kingdom—is the first Alaska-based operation to earn ISO/IEC 17025 testing laboratory accreditation from the International Accreditation Service (IAS).

The Alaska Assay Laboratory, with sister laboratories spread worldwide, offers sample preparation, precious metals by fire assay and inductively coupled plasma analysis for base metals and exploration geochemistry primarily for the mining industry. Dave Francisco, the president of the laboratory operation, is a veteran in determination of the amount of metal, especially gold or silver, in an ore, alloy or other metal.

IAS performed an assessment of Alaska Assay Laboratories' operation to determine compliance to ISO Standard 17025 in April this year. IAS is proud to have them on board and to service their accreditation needs.
