Gearing Up for the 2009 Code Council Annual Conference

The International Accreditation Service (IAS) will be on location and actively participating on several fronts at the upcoming International Code Council (ICC) Annual Conference, November 1-4, in Baltimore. Kicking off the week on November 1, IAS will be meeting conference attendees and discussing the benefits of accreditation in the IAS display booth at the ICC Expo. The IAS Board of Directors also will be meeting to discuss the latest developments and accreditation activities.

On November 3, IAS will be giving presentations at the CrackerBarrel Luncheon on accreditation topics, including Building Departments, Laboratories, Special Inspection Agencies and Manufacturing Inspection of Metal Buildings.

Attendees will learn what it takes to accredit a building department, or develop a systematic plan for making improvements in their own department, at the IAS Lead Evaluator Training program, November 2-4. The lead evaluator training offers attendees 1.0 CEUs.

The week will culminate with IAS giving special recognition to the Metal Building Manufacturers Association and the Clark County Building Division of the Development Services Department at the awards luncheon on November 4.
