ISO/IES 17025 Measurement Uncertainty Training

IAS instructor B.N. Taranath uses dial calipers to illustrate a Measurement Uncertainty topic.
IAS provided an extensive, two-day training session September 13-14 in La Habra, California, on the Measurement Uncertainty (MU) requirements in ISO/IEC Standard 17025. The ISO/IEC standard is the basis for the IAS accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories.

The training program is designed to help participants understand the accreditation requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 as applicable to MU calculations. IAS instructor B.N. Taranath, formerly with the Indian National Metrology Institute, used case studies, practical examples, discussions and exercises to clarify the statistical and basic mathematical concepts of MU. Participants who completed and passed an optional written exam received a certificate of completion referencing the standard.
