IAS Presents Accreditation Certificate at Laborers Graduation Ceremony

IAS presented the Training Agency Certificate of Accreditation to The Laborers Training and Retraining Trust Fund of Southern California at its 2011 Apprentice Graduation Ceremony on January 14 in Asuza, California. IAS President Chuck Ramani presented the certificate of accreditation to Rocco Davis, Vice President-At-Large and Regional Manager, LIUNA PSW and to Scott Gordon, Executive Director at the Laborers Training & Retraining Trust Fund. The school graduated over 250 students in the ceremony.

The Laborers Training School offers over 100 courses with curriculum designed for apprentices and journey workers. This diverse curriculum also suits the requirements of the Laborers' four apprenticeship programs: Construction Craft Laborer, Laborer Cement Mason, Laborer Landscape and Irrigation Fitter, and Brick Tender. Training is offered at the Azusa main campus and is made available to members in various locations covering 12 southern counties: Nipomo, Santa Barbara, and Bakersfield through San Diego Counties.

The IAS accreditation program for work force training agencies verifies that agencies are competent, that their trainers are qualified and that the curricula meet nationally recognized standards. During the accreditation process, IAS assessors evaluate the corporate organization, facilities, staffing, curriculum, product development and administration. The IAS accreditation program is the first of its kind to consider, concurrently, the needs of the construction crafts, contractors and construction regulators.
