Pacific Accreditation Cooperation Executive Committee Meeting Held in Los Angeles

Los Angeles was host to the mid-year meeting of the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) Executive Committee (EC) and Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) Management Committee. The meeting was held February 18-20 in Redondo Beach, California.

The MLA Management Committee provides oversight and guidance on the maintenance of PAC's multilateral recognition arrangements for Product Certification, Quality Management Systems, and Environmental Management Systems. The purpose of the MLA is to provide a framework by which mutual recognition of accredited certification between accreditation bodies, and subsequently acceptance of accredited certification in many markets based on accreditation.

The EC provides oversight and guidance on the operation of PAC and is charged with the development and implementation of strategies that support the continued acceptance of accredited certification in the Asian/Pacific region.
