The New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) presented the President's Award for Excellence and Service, and the Meritorious Service Award to Lawrence O'Connor, PE, at its 2013 Annual Meeting on June 7 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The President's Award for Excellence and Service recognizes O'Connor for his leadership in the NYSSPE and the Executive Director Search Committee. The Meritorious Service Awards recognized O'Connor for making an outstanding contribution to the goals of the Society over an extended period of time.

"Congratulations to Lawrence for achieving the awards presented by NYSSPE. These awards are indicative of his leadership and longstanding dedication to the profession and citizens of New York," said IAS President Chuck Ramani. O'Connor is IAS's New York representative for the Special Inspection Agency Accreditation Program mandated by the New York City Department of Buildings.
