Mike Maenner, City of Philadelphia Building Official, Retires after 30 Years

The International Code Council's Liberty Chapter of Philadelphia held its annual banquet on May 29, where the highlight of the evening was the Chapter's presentation of its Liberty Award to Michael Maenner. Maenner was also presented with a certificate from the International Code Council and the International Accreditation Service for his leadership and service as Chairman of the International Code Council Global Membership Council and dedication to achieving accreditation for the city of Philadelphia's building department.

Always the visionary, he advocated for ICC to become a truly international organization, recognizing that building safety is vital in all parts of the world. He joined ICC's Global Membership Council and his vision resulted in his election to their Governing Committee, and within two years, election to Committee Chairman. The Committee includes members from Canada to Kenya, and from Australia to Abu Dhabi.

We congratulate Mike Maenner on his service and commitment to safety in the built environment and wish him all the best in his endeavors.
