A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT:
IAS President's Corner

As 2014 comes to a close, I want to recognize all those who helped make 2014 a banner year for IAS. First and foremost, I would like to thank the employees, contract assessors and experts who toiled across several continents to serve the needs of our ever enlarging overseas and domestic customer base. This year, the volunteer members of the IAS Board of Directors have been working overtime to guide the organization as it evolves from a mid-size accreditation body to a major player in the global accreditation community.

Several milestones were achieved this year. In June, IAS crossed the 750 mark for number of accredited entities. At the October ICC Annual Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., IAS coordinated a successful global outreach of the International Code Council and led a memorable Global Forum; and, by the time this newsletter reaches our loyal customers, IAS will have been re-evaluated by the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) for continuation of its signatory status in PAC's multi-lateral recognition arrangement. This re-evaluation includes a review of our new application for recognition in the area of management systems accreditation covering ISO Standards 9001, -14000, etc.

I take this opportunity to thank our customers, assessors, the IAS board of directors, committees and councils for their tireless contributions to make IAS the brand of choice when it comes to accreditation. We at IAS wish you all a happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season and a bright new year.

Chuck Ramani, PE, CBO
IAS President
